New Zealand Artist, Mika Cotton.
Mika is a proud partner with York Gallery, enhancing us to be able to present and sell her masterpieces. These pieces below are just a few of the incredible art pieces she has made, all of which are sold. "I was born in Palmerston North, New Zealand and have been fortunate enough to travel and experience different cultures from all around the world. I gain a lot of inspiration from American art, in-particular: Shepard Fairey, Andy Warhol, Jean-Michel Basquiat and many others".
"During the day, I am a second-year law student at Victoria University in Wellington, also studying art history and business"
"I have always grown up in an art-filled home, which perhaps is where my passion for painting stems from; alongside getting to know the art world throughout my childhood, which secretly, I loved. I enjoyed spending time at galleries, speaking with artists, buyers and dealers and also have seen first-hand what it takes to be an artist. However, I started doing my own work when I was at high school and from there have continued to develop and create different pieces" - Mika Cotton
"Bright colours, abstraction, lines and forms have always drawn my attention, and there's something playful and fun within my art that speaks to a bit of my personality. I enjoy creating works loosely and letting the paint tell the story".
Mika is in very high demand at the moment, so be quick to contact our team to secure one of her pieces.
